Kylie and Eddie - A Rustic Barn Wedding in Waikato

Kylie and Eddie - A Rustic Barn Wedding in Waikato

Hey wedding lovers! I'm so happy to be sharing this beautiful real wedding from Julia Moore-Pilbrow Photography

Kylie and Eddie's gorgeous, laid-back wedding was held at The Red Barn in Waikato, such a perfect rustic venue!

Kylie shares how Eddy proposed: Eddy proposed to me with the ring that
he had custom made, whilst we were away for a few days on Waiheke island.
Eddy took me to lunch at the beautiful Mudbrick winery, and it was not until we
were walking through the beautiful gardens that i noticed my cool, calm and
collected partners hands began to shake and i knew something was going on.
Eddy went down on one knee and managed to splutter out “will you marry me”
and couldn’t get much else out haha. I was so excited and spent the whole of
lunch staring at my ring with adoration.

I tried on about a million dresses to try and find the style that i not only liked but
that suited my body shape also. I then went to the very talented (and patient)
Nicky who owns White Silk Bridal Couture and went through all my likes and
dislikes until we came up with my dress.

We aimed for a rustic style wedding to go with The Red
Barn
venue, and because we both love the style. The most important thing
that we wanted to achieve with our wedding was to create an atmosphere
where our guests could relax and just have fun. I think we pulled it off :)

Eddy’s grandparents were unable to make the wedding as they live in the UK and
are unable to fly due to medical reasons. They were very upset that they
could not make it over for the wedding so we had a special mention for them
in our ceremony and we hired a videographer so that they could have their
own copy to watch as much as they liked.

Kylie's advice for couples planning their wedding: There can
be a lot of outward pressures and expectations when you plan a wedding, my
advice would be to stick to what you and your fiance want for your big day,
care for your guests and take their needs into consideration but accept that
you are never going to be able to please everyone.

Thanks to Kylie for sharing her thoughts and to Julia for the beautiful photos!
